Christmas Recap

Here are the great pictures of our crazy Christmas with 5 kids! Even though it was a somewhat meager year...with 5 kids to wrap for it still looks like a lot. We had so much fun watching them. My favorite photo was this one of Weston jammin out with the headphones and ipod to his favorite "move it" song! ENJOY! :)

The 3 oldest received ipod shuffles (generic off ebay for $13) from Santa and loved to rock out to all the fun songs... Weston swiped Porters' and wouldn't take it off!
Porter just loved his giant snowglobe bouncy ball...who could blame him, it was awesome!

Santa's little Angels...

My Dad plays Santa every year for our family Christmas party (for over 3o years now) and our kids love to have their pictures taken with Grandpa Santa...This was Blake's first Christmas and his first photo with 'Santa'! Thank you Grandma Mrs. Clause for the suit :)

Notice Weston is NOT in this...couldn't get that one to hold still...AND his outfit didn't match :( So cute of my oldest 3!
Weston was SO happy! New Thomas jammies and skittles to boot!!

My (crazy) Wonder Life!

So this Christmas season I am so thankful to have 5 healthy and beautiful children that bless my life! This pic was from Thanksgiving and we were just thrilled to have 1 with all the kids looking AT the camera and happy (not crying)!!

Porter is our big man! He is 8 years old and doing so great. We started him and Weston on the GFCF diet (gluten free Casein free). While it's taken some time to see results with him, he is talking up a storm and really understanding everything around him on a whole new level!
James is our Big Helper! He is almost 7 years old and takes such good care of his brothers and sister. He is a wiz at math and gets 100% on all of his accelerated reading. We are so proud of him and how hard he tries.
Ruthie is our little mommy! At 5 years old and in Kindergarten we are so excited for the little angel she is. She loves to dress up the baby and helps out a ton.
Weston is our Mr. MAN! He is into everything. He loves to chase after his brothers and sister and get into all their stuff. He is doing great in all his therapies and really has been talking a ton since starting this new diet.
Blake is 2 1/2 months and is HUGE! We call him Bubba Blakers and love him to pieces. He loves to talk and coo and smile at us all and is a light in our family.

Posting WITH a baby...

There's a reason why it's taken me so long to post anything and HIS name is Blake! My "want to eat every 2-3 hours " is keeping me pretty busy! But as he grows and smiles and coo's, it's ALL worth it...So between 4 birthdays in 2 months and Halloween and adjusting to having a new baby I WILL BE POSTING LOTS SOON- some super fun pics too...so stay tuned :) Loves to you all!

Blake William Varney

September 25th, 2008 ...
The day finally arrived! Can you tell I'm am SO ready?! We went to Banner Gateway at 5 am to be induced with chicken #5...
Here is the "Peanut Gallery" - Grandma Varney(Landon's Mom), Grandpa Huso( my Dad and who we got William from), Grandma Huso (My mom) and Breanna (friend, videographer :), and woman support grand central!)

6 hours and about 6 good pushes later....
we welcomed Blake William Varney to our family!

We couldn't have done it without our fabulous Dr. Beck - he's delivered all of our children and is the best!!! If you look in the background Grandpa Huso is just as proud :)
Pics of the proud Grandparents... Grandma & Grandpa Varney and Huso...I love the shot of G. Varney taking pics of Blake...I think he took over 100 in the hour they were visiting :) Landon gets the credit for the rare - never before taken - shot of Larry smiling AT the camera, rather than BEHIND it!!! Great Shot.

So here are some pics of the kids with their new baby brother!
The kids were all so excited to meet Baby Blake! They each got to 'hold' him and had such sweet spirits about them. It was so fun to watch each of their reactions to him...Ruthie is definitely the 'little mommy' and James is his protector! Porter and Weston just like to look at him and ask to 'hold him' every once in a while.
This is Landon's art work he drew every day in my room. I didn't think to do a picture until we were leaving. He is so talented and it was fun to see what he'd come up with next.
Pictures on the day we came home. Proud Daddy and Mommy!

Welcome to our family little Blake! We love you and are so thankful you are healthy and strong!
Thank you to all of you for your love, prayers, support, meals and sweet gifts that you have given to us! We couldn't survive with out you!
Love, The Varney Gang ...now 7 strong!

All my Chickens...

So my mom has this magnet that says, "Raising children is like being pecked to death by a chicken!" So I thought I would post some of my favorite pictures of my chickens since I know I'll post quite a few when the newest one gets here soon...

I am so thankful to be a Mom and to have such beautiful happy children. We are truly blessed and can only hope and pray that our next little chicken will be just as happy and sweet as his brothers and sister!

'A' Your Adorable

Is it any wonder that she is adored?! I NEVER thought that I would see Landon putting makeup on our little girl - ever :) I'm sure that one will go in her wedding video someday. Landon's Dad takes the best pictures and while he was showing Ruthie some he had taken I snuck in a quick one with the two of them together - sorry Dad but you can't delete this one!

Ruthie's 5th Birthday

Ruthie was so excited to have her birthday and turn 5 years old! She invited all of her friends and cousins to her Tinker Bell Party! There were 13 girls at the party and we played pin the wings on Tink - each of the girls decorated their own fairy wings and then tried to put them on Tink while blind folded, Fairydust freeze tag - you could only unfreeze when someone sprinkled pixie dust on you, and Peter Pan Peter Pan Tinker Bell - our version of Duck Duck Goose. We had Green Neverland punch - Hawaiin punch and sprite , and Fairy sprinkle cupcakes and then opened presents! It was a super fun party and there is still glitter all over my house. But hey, I only have 1 girl and she only turns 5 once!!

Happy Birthday Ruthie - we sure love you!

Contractions Galore!!!

So how much more tired can I get...or should I really say that out loud? I've had contractions non stop since Saturday the 30th and am exhausted. Of course when I went to the doctor he informed me that NOTHING is happening (which is why I'm always induced)...I guess that extra pitocin is what my body needs to get these babies out - thank heavens for modern medicine!! So unless I actually accomplish something on my own then I'm scheduled for the 25th. We are all getting excited - me a little nervous on the whole change in routine for our family - ha ha ha I almost said 'little' family...It's hard to believe we'll be a gang of 7! So for now... it's onto washing and organizing baby stuff and trying not to go nuts with all these contractions.

Way Too Early!

So while this isn't the most attractive picture - O.k. so it's hideous of me, it's an accurate depiction of early mornings for me! Porter and Weston both love to get up at insane hours...sometimes 5:30 and usually 6:00 am every stinkin' morning regardless of weekends or how hard they played the night before. So Landon got out the camera to get a shot of me passed out on the couch with a boy in each arm and remote for the Little Einsteins' Movie - or as I like to call it sanity/sleep for Mommy! I don't know how I'll make it on no sleep when this baby gets here. I just saw my little countdown ticker to my due date and it said 36 days... Holy Crap...I need more time and aparantly more SLEEP!

Maybe a WATERMELON...

So Landon likes to say it's a WATERMELON... let me go back! All during this pregnancy I get these fun little e-mails talking about how big the baby is at each stage. So first we started with an avacado...then it was a Grapefruit...Next it was a Jicama...the Jicama grew to be a Pineapple
Then that pineapple grew to be a cantalope...
I've had fun forwarding the e-mails to my mom's...the "grandma's" to keep them updated all the while getting a huge laugh about the FOOD reference... So my mom calls me and says, after the last cantalope e-mail..."Well let's hope he doesn't get as big as a watermelon" we continued talking and I was checking my e-mail and Landon writes "I think ours is a little bigger than a cantalope...more like a watermelon!" Thanks a lot honey - I love you too! So here's to our WATERMELON due in 1 month.

J & Sally

So on Saturday Landon took the kids to the fish store to buy some thing new for our tank. We have a 55 gallon salt water tank and the kids love picking out new fish for the tank... the only problem is sometimes the FISH don't like it when we add someone new to THEIR environment... this is Landon defending our new striped fish that the kids named 'J' short for Jail Bird.
Marlin and Nemo (our clown fish) bit off his fins in about 2 minutes from him being added to the tank - poor little guy was so stressed out!
Sally is harded to see...look to the right of J on the left side of the rock. She is called a sally lighfoot crab and loves to eat 'things' off the rocks...ya know to keep the tank clean...I'm all over someone else cleaning up after the fish since I have enough of my own little fish to clean up after :) So for now we have J in a container in the fish tank to protect him until we can figure out what to do...and the clown fish are still trying to get at him...it's been a good teaching lesson for the kids about making good choices and how our actions affect others!

Ruthie's Room

So I have had Ruthie's room painted since last November! I know I know procrastination - it's not like I've had anything else keeping me busy... so I finally got some time to put up her princess border and nobody told me that the ceiling to wall ratio was NOT straight...OK so it totally stinks to have OCD and try to get a border straight on a wall that isn't...so after much stress and effort I got it up and straight - to my eye anyway - screw the lazer level that you cannot use if the wall to ceiling isn't straight , but that's a whole other stress!
So here are the final pics...
She came home and was SO ecstatic! Did I mention that she would pray Every night for like 6 months for her room to get finished and then finally gave up?!
The border was about 18 inches too short from completing the room when I remembered that I had curtains that matched her bedspread. My sister and friend came and helped me hang them and it turned out SO CUTE! Ruthie loves it when we untie them every night to mak her room dark! Now onto the boys room... wish me luck with only 5 or so weeks left until this baby gets here...too many projects too little time.
